Preface

In the context of citizens of a democratic nation, two things are paramount for the success democracy. The first thing is the possession of accurate information, and the second is the ability to form an informed opinion based on available information. It is only through education that one acquires the ability to form an informed opinion. But even educated citizens can be misled into forming a wrong opinion because of lack of information or misinformation. The newspaper and the media in India have done a good job in providing information on events of international, national & regional importance, and on important issues being faced by the people. However, easy access to information on government policies & proceedings, and laws & rules of the land, is lacking in this nation, because of which, people often have a poor understanding on these topics, and are easily misled.

We live in the information age, where most information we seek is accessible in one way or another. It is only necessary to know where to find it. This blog aims to make this information easily accessible to the citizens of India. With this blog, I plan to share information on government policies, parliamentary proceedings, and laws & regulations in India, and then have discussions on these topics with the readers. My aim here is not to enforce my opinion on these matters, but provide accurate information which will help people in forming an informed opinion. In cases where strong and influential opinions exist, I will try to share opinions from all viewpoints to prevent any sort of bias. Through these means, I hope that I will be able make the readers of this blog, and myself, better informed citizens.
